USEPPA ISLAND, Fla. - A waterspout was spotted off the coast of Useppa Island Thursday.

NBC2 viewer Kathy Davis sent us video of it.

Useppa Island is north of Captiva Island, between Cayo Costa and Pine Island.

NOAA's National Weather Service defines a waterspout as "a whirling column of air and water mist."

Usually, if a waterspout moves onshore, a tornado warning will be issued.
