LEE COUNTY, Fla. - A New York woman got thrown off a plane at RSW and then thrown into jail.

Investigators said Fennan Kendeel, 22, was asked to leave the JetBlue flight when she refused to follow fight crews' requests.

When she was asked to leave the terminal, she refused and made a scene in front of others. Then she called 9-1-1, claiming airport police had pushed her and stepped on her.

Kendeel was subsequently arrested for misusing 9-1-1 and resisting arrest. She is out on bond and scheduled to be in court on July 2.

JetBlue released this statement on the incident:

On June 10, a customer on flight 1512 was deplaned prior to departure following a verbal altercation that included physical threats against JetBlue crew. The decision to remove a customer from a flight is not taken lightly. If the crew determines that a customer is causing a disruption on the aircraft, the customer will be asked to deplane, especially if the crew feels the situation runs the risk of escalation during flight. In this instance, JetBlue crew members worked with local law enforcement to escort the customer, and their airfare was refunded.
