Police officer proposes to girlfriend during traffic stop
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - Getting pulled over and getting proposed to are quite the heart-pounding experiences.
Could you imagine combining both?
That's what one newly-engaged police officer did to his girlfriend during a proposal that's getting a lot of attention online.
The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office in Georgia shared the moment DeKalb County Police Officer John Heart proposed to his now-fiance, Alexis, on Facebook.
Heart had coordinated with his brothers and sisters in blue from the Lawrenceville Police Department to pull off the proposal, Gwinnett deputies said.
Alexis was a passenger in the vehicle that got "pulled over" only to learn that it was an elaborate setup she'll likely never forget.
"We're pleased to announce she said YES and wish the happy couple all the best as they plan their wedding and embark on married life," the Facebook post reads. "In true cop fashion, the plan to wed on 10-4."
