Cape Coral teacher saves substitute teacher choking on chicken
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - A teacher at Trafalgar Middle School saved a substitute teacher from choking on a piece of chicken during lunch on May 9.
Several teachers were in the staff lounge eating lunch, when that substitute teacher started coughing.
According to Cape Coral police, teacher Nevin Marshall immediately jumped into action, performing three abdominal thrusts, saving her, dislodging the piece of chicken from her throat.
Marshall was given the "Citizen Commendable Action Challenge Coin" by Cape Coral police for going above and beyond.
The substitute teacher is okay.
