SARASOTA, Fla. - The man who dumped a body inside a Naples Park home in October 2018 was convicted for second degree murder.

Daniel Davenport killed Sergio Hostins in Sarasota then drove the body to Naples, rolled it up in carpet, and dumped it inside the home that was under construction, according to an arrest report.

Hostins was reported missing, then deputies put a warrant out for Davenport's arrest.

Davenport was captured in Orlando.

Investigators believe Davenport and Hostins met online. Police found naked pictures of Davenport on Hostins' iPad in his apartment. The pictures were dated four days before Hostins went missing.

Davenport was a hired contractor to remove trees at the Naples home. In his arrest report, his brother-in-law said Davenport said "he had a body he needed to get rid of."

A judge has not set a sentencing date yet.
